Usernames/Member ID Help

When i used to activate members into the Private forums of my board they were listed by username - they are now listed by Member ID - how does this relate to their usernames. I have users wanting to join private forums, but no way of knowing what their Member ID is. Any suggestions?

Same my end. Got six private forums in which I am allocating members to. Suddenly the option on bottom left side dissapeard and member ID come out is a five digit number thing and not name. Today I can see the names, but the old feature of selecting people to the various closed forums is gone.
