Question about scandinavian character?
Permalink Closed

Hi,

You are doing just amazing job. Thank you I have had my own forum about 6 months now, and it's been such fun. Thank you again.

But now we have a little problem, and I just don't know what happend. My forum is finnish, and members use scandinavian character when they are writing there. For a while, there has been some problems because you can only see these ? ½ ¿ ! when you use ä and ö. Why? Is there anything I can do ?

Love, M

The first thing to check is "Character Encoding" on the Settings page-- I think you want the Latin-9 charset for a finnish forum... but I'm not an expert on unicode so if that doesn't work try Latin-1 or Latin-2.

Also, check the charset your browser is using. In Mozilla, click View:Character Encoding and pick from the drop-down list.

THANK YOU

It's working with Latin-9. There has not been any problem since I change those settings. Thank you one more time.

Love, M
